Alignment procedure

SIDE VIEW + TOP VIEW
The gearbox is stuck on its base, fully connected. The securing bolts of the engine are hand-tightened to the base plate.
The securing bolts of the base plate are also hand-tightened in the foundation. The indications “R” are positioned on the flanges of the coupling (M1 & M2).

The dial gauge is placed on the outside of the flange M1 and one measures AC on the outside of the flange M2. We read the differences of concentricity at one rotation of both axes. The deviation “d” between 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock and the deviation “h” between 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock. Customizing is done by sideway shifting for “d” in the horizontal plane and the lowering for “h” in the vertical plane untill the read-out is equal everywhere. In this way one obtains the concentricity and the in line of both axes.The lowering “h” happens between the engine feet and the base plate. The drawing nearby shows the end result. The tolerances are application bound and are also depending on the characteristics of the coupling.
